Presentation skills in English

Aim for results!

Addressing an international audience is not just a challenge - it's a great opportunity as well!

As a non-native speaker using English, you need to master the basic essentials and tricks of the trade when it comes to speaking in public. To achieve a higher level, it requires practice, feedback and advice, as well as clear objectives, a transparent structure, realistic timing and more. To sum up, it all boils down to good preparation. This course will provide you with a wealth of insights and tips for public speaking. It will also enable you to improve your presentation skills through a variety of exercises and personal presentation moments.

Objectives

Give a presentation? No, thanks!

"When I have to give a presentation in English, I suffer terribly from stage fright. I just stand there reading from my speech notes because I feel unsure about myself. I'm simply not used to it and I lack experience ..."

"I'm not very amusing at the best of times; certainly not in front of a large group. I also always tend to see my audience's attention wandering ..."

"I never know what to do with my hands. My voice doesn't project far enough and I'd rather not use overheads because I always get my slides mixed up ..."

"I can't. No, public speaking is something I simply cannot do ..."

Give a presentation? It gives me a great kick!

"Because I am so well prepared, I have everything under control and I can keep my stage fright to a minimum. I also use a few simple breathing techniques."

"There are so many different ways of keeping a presentation animated. I shower my audience with examples and I involve them with inviting questions."

"I have learned a great deal from seeing myself at work on video. I have improved my posture and language and now make maximum use of PowerPoint and flip over."

"You can learn all the ins and outs of public speaking!"

As the title of the course suggests, we deal with all aspects of public speaking. Not just business presentations, but also speeches on other occasions, such as staff functions or retirement parties.

One more thing: practice, practice and more practice! 'Practice makes perfect', that's our motto. You may also be required to give presentations outside the context of your particular business. Which is why we have an intensive training course that is customised to such an extent that you tell us what topics you want us to deal with.
